In a bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking powder.

Add the diced butter and mix with your hands to incorporate the butter.

Add enough hot water to get a soft but non-stick dough.

Knead for 15 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8-10 balls and leave them to rest under a kitchen towel.

On the table sprinkled with flour, spread the round sheets of tortilla - a diameter of about 20 cm.

Heat a frying pan.

When hot, fry the tortilla for 1 minute on each side.

They should be lightly browned.

Store them in cling film or in a large freezer bag until you fill them so that they do not dry out.

Then fill them with the desired garnish ... see here

Ingredient:

  • 480 g flour
  • 5 g baking powder
  • 6 g salt
  • 80 ml vegetable oil
  • 280 ml of warm water

Method of preparation:

In a bowl put the flour, salt and baking powder. We mix them and make a hole in the middle of it.

Add water, oil and mix with a spatula until it becomes inefficient, then move to manual kneading.

Knead until it peels off the walls of the bowl and get an elastic dough, quite soft and slightly sticky, do not add more water that will come out dry. We leave it aside for 10 minutes covered.

Remove the dough from the bowl on the work surface and knead for another 5 minutes.

Let it rest again for 10 minutes and then divide it into 16 equal parts.

Spread each piece of dough on a work surface sprinkled with flour 24 cm circles.

Bake on a hot pan for 40-50 seconds on each side, you don't need more, as they are quite thin and otherwise they will dry out.

If the dough is too soft, then you can add a little more flour. Round the dough, put it in a bowl and leave it covered in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.

The next step is to prepare the worktop. Put flour on the table, put the dough and cut it into four pieces that you round into a ball. Leave the dough balls to rest for 10 minutes, then spread them on the counter in a round shape.

Put a non-stick pan, without oil, on the stove, over medium heat, and when it is well heated, add a sheet of dough and let it bake on each side for 2 minutes, until it browns.

Homemade sticks are delicious and can be eaten with canned food you already have at home or with soups and broths.

Quesadilla with grilled chicken and vegetables + GIVEAWAY

Because I had good weather and beautiful spring days, I decided to inaugurate the new barbecue season right in my own garden. And not anyway but testing a very nice and modern device: electric grill HEG-1800XMC from Heinner Electrocasnice from the range Master Collection & # 8211 see here.

I liked that it is not just a simple sandwich maker but that it has generous dimensions (23 x 29 cm) and that has 2 operating modes: grill and barbecue. That is, it can be used as a press but can also be opened completely to obtain a double frying surface. Smart! In this recipe for quesadilla with chicken and vegetables I used both functions: I fried the meat and vegetables on the large surface of the grill (barbecue) and I au gratin the stuffed tortilla using the press function (grill).

This electric grill from Heinner has a modern design with stainless steel finishes, cold handle with protection, warm storage function and removable grill plates. This last aspect delighted me because we all know how difficult it is to clean sandwich makers or grills that cannot be dismantled. Electric grill HEG-1800XMC from Heinner Electrocasnice it is not expensive at all and can be purchased from here or here.

At the end of the recipe, a GIVEAWAY very nice!

From the quantities below it results approx. 4-6 servings of quesadilla with chicken and vegetables or tortilla stuffed with cheese.

How to make shaorma sticks at home

This time, Regis Stone pans were tested by RetetePapaBun.ro. Want to know how they fared and what they thought of Regis Stone? Read below and find out how you can prepare the glues for shaorma at home.

When you have a good frying pan, your inspiration comes right away! It's harder to decide which recipes to start with and which ones to leave behind. C & acircnd, & icircntr in the end, you decide, you convince yourself that you did not choose wrong. To make good glue for shaorma, one of the basic conditions is to have a pan that can withstand this kind of preparation & ndash not to burn, to bake evenly, not to glue. And this time Regis Stone he helped me and passed the test with flying colors! - RetetePapaBun.ro.

Ingredients for the filling

  • 125 g of fresh mushrooms
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 100 g of cheddar cheese
  • 75 g of cream (15% fat)
  • fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • nutmeg
  • salt
  • pepper
Method of preparation

First I prepared the filling. I cut the mushrooms and garlic into small pieces, chopped the dill and grated the cheddar cheese on a small grater. In a pan I put a tablespoon of olive oil and hardened the mushrooms with garlic, stirring constantly. I left the mushrooms on the fire for about 10 minutes, until they softened and the liquid completely dropped. I took the pan off the heat and let the mushrooms cool a bit. I added the greens, cheddar cheese and sour cream and seasoned with salt, pepper and nutmeg. This filling is enough for four glues.

Glue Ingredients (4 pieces):
  • 200 g of 650 type flour
  • salt
  • fresh basil
  • fresh dill
  • 200 ml of warm water
  • olive oil
  • 30 g of cream (for greasing)
Glue preparation

I chopped dill and basil. I put the flour in a bowl and added a pinch of salt. I poured warm water, little by little, and kneaded until I got a thick dough that was easily removed from the hands. If necessary, you can add more flour or water, depending on how much the dough requires.

I divided the dough into four equal parts. On a plate sprinkled with flour, I put a piece of dough and spread a round sheet with the rolling pin. I sprinkled a quarter of the amount of greenery and folded the sheet into three. I stretched again with the twister a round sheet with a diameter of about 25 cm. It is very important that the sheet is very thin. Using a brush, I greased the sheet with olive oil on both sides.

I fried the oil-free sheet over medium heat in a Teflon pan for about 2-3 minutes. I repeated the operation with the other 3 pieces of dough.

I divided the mushroom and cheese filling into four equal parts. I filled each glue with this composition and rolled them carefully. In a tray lined with baking paper, I placed the filled glues and put them in the oven at 180˚C for 15 minutes. After that, I removed the glues, greased them with cream on top and left them in the oven for another 10 minutes until they browned nicely.

I sprinkled freshly ground pepper, grated some cheddar cheese on top and served them hot.

Simple recipe for homemade pita glue (without yeast)!

Pita are water-based yeast-free glues that are baked on a pan, and a filling pocket is formed inside. The pocket can be filled with meat, vegetables or sauces. The sticks can also be served as bread. It is very easy to prepare, and the ingredients are affordable and are usually found in any kitchen.

INGREDIENT:

-350 gr of flour (+ 10-20 gr for sprinkling)

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1.Add the salt to the water and mix.

2. Pour the hot mixture into the sifted flour bowl and add oil.

3.Mix the dough with a spoon, then knead it with your hands for about 1 minute. The dough is quite soft and practically non-sticky.

4. Round the dough, put it in a bag and leave it for 20 minutes.

5. Transfer the dough to the well-floured work surface and work it a little. Then divide it into 8 equal pieces, 80 grams each.

6. Round each piece of dough and place them under the plastic bag so that it does not dry out.

7. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes, then roll out dough sheets with a diameter of about 15-16 cm. Sprinkle the glues with flour, so that they do not break or stick in any case, otherwise they will not grow and will not form a pocket. The glues must also have a round shape.

8. Fry the glue on the hot pan until browned on both sides.

Then turn it over again and, in 20 seconds, you will notice how the pocket swells and forms.

Turn the glue once more, so that it leaves, and bake it for another 20-30 seconds.

Pita tastes like a homemade thin paste. Keep in mind that if the surface of the glues is damaged, the air will come out through the hole and they will not swell. However, the sticks will be very tasty, but already without a pocket.

Mexican tortillas or sticks

Tortillas are a common presence on Mexican tables. They can be eaten plain or can be the basis for burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas. They can also be cut, fried and eaten as chips with spicy sauces or in salads. Tortillas are a versatile food, and the best are the homemade ones with white flour or corn flour.

Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a large bowl. Add the lard and knead lightly with your fingers until incorporated into the flour. At first the lard will crumble and form small balls in the flour. Don't be scared, knead it further because it will homogenize. Add water little by little and continue to mix until you get a homogeneous dough. Do not pour all the water at once because your dough will become sticky and you will not be able to knead it.

In the end you have to get an elastic and soft dough. Put it on the worktop sprinkled with 1-2 tablespoons of flour and knead it well.

Divide it into 12 equal parts, roll them into balls and get ready to heat the pan.

Use a large diameter pan (26-28 cm) and leave the heat on medium.

With a rolling pin, wrap each ball in a sheet of tortilla as thin as possible. Put it in the hot pan and bake it for 1-2 minutes on each side. At first it will swell and make bubbles similar to rubber balloons. Turn it on the other side and leave it in the pan until it browns.

As you make them, put the tortillas in a towel to keep them warm. Use them to roll in them delicious burittos or with cool summer salads.

Homemade glues with a mixture of growth agents

During this period of great trial for all, the period of isolation at home, due to the pandemic of covid-19, because the yeast became "truffle", I tried all kinds of bread recipes, including the recipe Homemade sticks with a mixture of growth agents.

In addition to the basic ingredients for baking and raising doughs: yeast, baking powder, baking soda, I have also tested in the past the guarantee for leavened dough from Dr. Oetker, which is unfortunately no longer found.

This guarantor was actually a mixture of baking powder (73%) with yeast (15%) and cornstarch, plus some additives, perfect for leavened dough.

The dough only needs 15 minutes to rest, and the other ingredients are put cold, not hot as in the case of using simple yeast.

Starting from this formula, I prepared my own guarantor for leavened doughs and I first tested it for this Homemade Glues recipe with a mixture of growth agents.

I did not exactly follow the formula or the recommended weight for a certain amount of flour, I only took into account the three important ingredients. Even in the case of yeast, I didn't respect it, I always tried to put less and the result was always a success.

If you have the patience to weigh small weights, you can do it, I have detailed the formula above.

I also recommend:

  • 750 gr flour
  • 350 ml of water
  • 50 ml oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 sachet baking powder (10 gr)
  • 1/3 sachet dry yeast (7 gr / sachet)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch

[preparation title = & # 8221Preparation & # 8221]

Here's how easy and quick I prepared the Homemade Glues Recipe with a mixture of growth agents!

First we mix the three ingredients: baking powder + yeast + starch.

Sift the flour into a bowl, then add the mixture of growth agents and salt.

Mix everything well, then pour water and 3/4 of the oil and mix.

We can use the dough mixer to make our work easier.

The result will be a firm dough, which we leave to rest for 15 minutes.

After this interval, divide the dough into 8-10 parts, or depending on how big the pan is.

My family preferred to cook them on the grill pan because they look better, they say.

And they preferred them thin, but they can be made even thicker, because the dough will bake very well.

They preferred them thin because they were served hot, spread with butter and honey.

How do we assemble and bake the wonderful homemade glues with a mixture of growth agents?

With the oil off, we grease our hands and shape the dough pieces into spherical shapes.

Then we spread them with the help of the rolling pin, on the board greased with a little oil.

Heat the pan over medium to high heat and bake the house sticks in turn, until they are nicely browned on the outside.

For a uniform baking, we also place a lid on the pan, which we take care to wipe off the condensation, when we turn the sticks.

They are very good, they are well cooked, so I recommend recipes with confidence!
