Preparation of pickled cabbage with apples:

Step 1: prepare the cabbage.

First, we free the cabbage from damaged leaves, rinse under running water and put it on a cutting board. With a sharp knife, we cut the cabbage into 4 parts, remove the stump and chop with a thin straw of arbitrary size. Then we shift it into a deep plate or bowl, sprinkle with salt and slightly compress it with clean hands.

Step 2: prepare the apples.

Next, we wash the green apples under running water, peel them if desired and transfer to a cutting board. With a knife, cut the fruit in half, remove the core with seeds and cut into strips, cube or any pieces of any shape. After the apples are placed in a plate for cabbage.

Step 3: prepare the marinade.

Now go to the marinade. We turn on the temperature of the stove to a medium level, put the pan on the burner and fill it with 2 glasses of water. Then add sugar, vegetable oil, vinegar, bay leaves, pepper and salt to the water. With a tablespoon, mix everything carefully and bring the marinade to a boil. Cook it for about 3 minutes, then turn off the heat and set the pan aside.

Step 4: pickle cabbage with apples.

Pour cabbage with apples with a hot marinade, mix with a tablespoon and build a press. To do this, cover the cabbage with any convenient plate, pour ordinary running water into a jar or bowl and put on a plate. We remove the resulting structure in the refrigerator for 2 days. With the passage of time, we take out the pan with the press from the refrigerator, remove the plate with the can, mix the cabbage, simultaneously removing the bay leaves and you can serve the dish to the table.

Step 5: serve pickled cabbage with apples.

Pickled cabbage is served cold as an appetizer or as an addition to meat or fish dishes. You can decorate it with sprigs of greens or lemon slices. Delicious, crunchy, with a pleasant acidity, the snack for strong drinks is ready!
